The joke in Muskoka is that 'everyone with a hammer calls themselves a builder'. Unfortunately, there is some truth to this statement. Not everyone who straps on a tool-belt knows how to build to code, or the above-code standard you may be paying for. There are few things worse than getting into a building project, and finding out you paid a substantial deposit to someone with no insurance, WSIB, and who spends the winter snowmobiling instead of finishing your project on time.
